We are proud to announce that Gabriel Ponce and Analía Morales will join us as headlining artists at Perth Tango Festival 2026 — marking their Australian debut. With a career spanning over 25 years, Gabriel and Analía are among the most respected and sought-after couples in the tango world. They began their journey under the guidance of the great Osvaldo Zotto, later becoming members of Argentina’s National Folkloric Ballet.
For 17 years, they were a leading couple in Miguel Ángel Zotto’s iconic show Tango x 2, performing in cities such as New York, Amsterdam, Rome, Athens, Milan, London, Rotterdam, and Hong Kong. Today, they are official judges of the Tango World Championship.
They have served in the semifinals of Tango de Pista and the final of Tango Escenario. Their deep connection to Tango de Pista is also reflected in their early studies with celebrated milongueros such as Carlitos Pérez, Elina Rondán, and Raúl Bravo.
But beyond their illustrious performance history, it is their clarity as teachers, technical depth, and generosity in the studio that make them truly exceptional. They have a rare ability to make complex ideas feel approachable: empowering dancers of all levels to grow with confidence and care.
Their presence brings both spectacle and substance, aligning perfectly with Perth Tango Festival’s commitment to excellence and inclusion. Their stage presence is magnetic and commanding, yet always rooted in the authenticity and emotional truth of tango. Their legacy is not only what they’ve performed, but also the thousands of dancers they’ve inspired around the world.
